Ventilator Management

Assessment and monitoring of oxygen therapy support and mechanical ventilation support.

Work with the care team to develop a care plan to maximize patient respiratory care.

Help the client to improve their ability to cope with the disease.

Instruct the client and family in all therapy to be done, including indications, contraindications, side effects and hazards of the specific therapy.

Weaning process of withdrawing mechanical ventilatory support and transferring the work of breathing from the ventilator to the patient.

 

Equipment and Material Management:

Setting up relevant medical equipment including calibration and testing.

Ensure that medical equipment has been maintained regularly.

Sterilize equipment and ensure the operation and application of therapy are sterile following universal precautions.

In charge of ordering materials and supplies for respiratory care service.

Report equipment failures.

 

Therapeutic Procedures
