This Code of Conduct applies to all managers, supervisors, and employees of Al Raiaa Home Health Care.
Al Raiaa Home Health Care expects all of its employees to act in accordance with the highest standards of personal and professional integrity in all aspects of their activities and to comply with all applicable laws, rules and regulations.
All personnel must respect the integrity and individuality of every person served he/she may treat or with whom he comes into contact.
All personnel must have due regard for, but not unfairly discriminate on account of, the sex, race, religion, customs, physical and mental ability, economic status and values of every Patient he treats or with whom he comes into contact.
No personnel may engage in any act which is intended to or has the effect of exploiting a relationship with a person served for his own personal gain (other than by obtaining reasonable payment for his services).
All personnel must maintain the highest ethical standards and must behave at all times with courtesy, respect, dignity and discretion in all relationships with the persons served.3
Any possible conflicts of interest must be disclosed to the supervisor/ department head. Identification of a potential or actual conflict of interest at an early stage is important. Actions depend on the situation to resolve the issues in a consistent and appropriate manner.
Financial and fiduciary interests, outside activities such as consulting, gifts, and other types of interactions with industry all have the potential to create real or perceived conflicts of interest or commitment with one’s patient care or management.
The acceptance or provision of gifts and business gratuities are to be treated with caution and may be considered a conflict of interest.
Gifts given to individuals must be declined politely, explaining the reason for doing so.
Cash gifts are not encouraged unless the patient or family is insisting as long as it is only up to 100 AED. Cash gifts above 100 AED should be reported to their direct supervisor and the direct supervisor will report to the Human Resources Department. Cash gifts reported will be used as company funds to assist employees in any emergency situations or during organization-wide gatherings or celebrations.
Personnel shall refrain from engaging in any form of sexual or romantic relationship with persons to whom they are providing professional services, to whom they owe a continuing duty of care, or with whom they have a relationship of trust. This might include a former patient, a student or trainee, or a junior staff member.
Personnel shall recognize that harassment may consist of a single serious act or multiple persistent or pervasive acts and that it further includes behaviour that ridicules, disparages, or abuses a person and shall cultivate an awareness of power structures and tensions within groups or teams.
All personnel must ensure that he/she does not engage in the treatment of a Patient unless Informed Consent has been obtained from or on behalf of that Patient to the treatment which is to be provided or has been deemed in accordance with regulations not to be required in the case of the relevant treatment for that patient so that consent is given without coercion or pressure.
All personnel must communicate fully with the person served and keep them informed about the nature and purpose of all tests and treatment and communicate promptly and fully all results and the clinical implications of such results.
All personnel must comply at all times with DOH regulatory requirements relating to the:
– Right of a Patient to have access to data
– Right of a Patient to require that data be transferred to another professional.
– Restrictions on the collection, use, retention, storage and destruction of data.
